Before you commit anything

The discovery call

An hour on your film with the person who would do the work.

30 minutes paid, 30 minutes free. Bring the film, the budget and the deadline — not a general question.

$50 30 minutes paid · 30 minutes free

Earns you $500 off Stage one.

What the hour is for

You have a film, or a script and a budget, and a decision to make about it. The call is where somebody who sells films for a living tells you what they actually think — whether the thing is sellable, what it is worth in the territories that matter, what is missing, and what you would have to change to move the number.

Come with the film. The hour is worth several times more against a real cut, a real budget and a real deadline than against a hypothetical one. If you have read the Blueprint, come with the steps you are stuck on.

You will not be sold anything on the call. If the answer is that you do not need us, that is the answer you get.

What it costs, and why it is cheap

$50 buys the first 30 minutes. The second 30 are free, so an hour costs $50 against a consulting rate that works out at $187.50 an hour — a saving of $137.50 on the hour.

It is not free because a free hour attracts people who want a free hour. $50 is small enough that it costs nobody serious anything, and large enough that the diary stays open for producers who mean it.

Your $500 credit

Paying for the call earns $500 against Stage one, our validation work, if you decide you would rather we ran the method than you did. Stage one is $5,500, or $5,000 once the credit is applied. You are emailed a code as soon as you pay; quote it when you start and it comes off the price. One per project. Not transferable and not redeemable for cash. Valid for twelve months from the call being paid for.

How it works

One. Pay for the call. You are emailed your credit code and a link to say when you are free.

Two. Give us a few times that suit and your time zone. We confirm a slot and send a link to join.

Three. We talk about your film for 60 minutes.

Four. If you want us to run Stage one, quote your code and $500 comes off.
